
Research and Innovation
Lark regularly contributes her research in both academic and non-academic settings. Her research brought her to the University of Lethbridge for her Bachelor's in Music, Trinity College Dublin for a Masters in Music Composition and the University of Edinburgh for a Masters in Musicology.
Lark's work incorporates ethnomusicological research, graphic notation and experimental composition and has been performed and exhibited through the Royal Scottish Academy’s Annual Exhibition (2021). Her research has been widely presented at a number of conferences, including the collaborative postgraduate research seminar between the UK’s Royal Musical Association (RMA) and the Netherlands’ Koninklijke Vereniging voor Nederlandse Muziekgeschiedenis (KVNM).
McIvor has a publication in Oxford Early Music and has a forthcoming article following her presentation at Composition & Research Symposium at GMPU in Klagenfurt. She was awarded multiple grants for her research; including the Student Experience Grant (Innovation Initiative Grants 2020) and the Festival of Creative Learning Award (FCL 2019).

In addition to her academic contributions, Lark is actively engaged in community music initiatives, and has worked with groups such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish U26 Opera, and various Opera Workshops in Ireland, Canada and the UK. Lark also presents and produces her own workshops in music appreciation and music education. She has been supported by the Festival of Creative Learning at the University of Edinburgh and Innovation Initiative with the Edinburgh University Fund.
