What Are Piano Lessons?
Welcome to the piano! Here we sit before some of the greatest musicians, composers, conductors and creative minds in the history of music.
This instrument is often referred to as "The King of the Orchestra", and this title is not given lightly. The 88 keys on the piano allow for a massive range of pitch, the piano can play the softest and loudest sounds, the ability to play many notes at once gives the piano a harmonic richness and the ability to play the melody and harmony of a piece at the same time.
Learning to play the piano also has a highly beneficial effect on our brains; improving cognitive function, enhancing hand-eye coordination, increasing neural connections, reducing stress, boosting creativity.
Develop Proper Technique
Playing the piano is in many ways an intuitive process, however it is surprisingly easy to form habits that can affect our performance or cause repetitive injuries that can affect our long term playing. A piano teacher's role is to guide and inform your technique to allow for the best possible experience for you.
